About the Job


 
The Indiana Masonic Home is a continuing care retirement community that offers current and future residents several lifestyles. Our facility includes a state-of-the art Medical Center, Assisted Living Apartment, and Independent Living Duplex Homes on 400 acres. Indiana Masonic Home is located in Franklin, Indiana, just 20 miles south of Indianapolis, Indiana. Our facility has an immediate opening for a Director of Marketing and Information.
The Director of Marketing and Information primary responsibilities will include but not limited to:
·         Works closely with IMH department heads and the Executive Director of the Indiana Masonic Home Foundation.
·         Maintains a high profile with Indiana Masonic Lodges and Eastern Star Chapters, related senior advocacy and support programs, businesses, and industries as well as local and state governments for the purposes of enhancing and maintaining positive, supportive and cooperative relationships.
·         Coordinates major annual programs including the Annual Festival, visitations, and seasonal events.
·         Coordinates and presents regular submissions of articles or interest to the Indiana Freemason and Starlite Newsletters.
·         Initiates, manages, and maintains positive media relations on behalf of the Indiana Masonic Home.  Prepares media campaigns for newspapers, radio, and television.  Drafts and submits or approval (if required) news releases, speeches, and reports as necessary.
·         Tracks and analyzes legislation that may impact the Indiana Masonic Home and advocates for those served by IMH.
·         Coordinates IMH advertising; creates and prepares promotional materials such as advertisements, brochures, schedules, posters, and pamphlets as necessary.  Manages requests for graphic and photography work.

·         Recommends goals and strategies for accomplishing assigned responsibilities; actively participates in IMH strategic and annual planning processes; proposes personal and professional development goals.
·         Exhibits fiscal responsibility in the development and management of budgets; monitors spending according to annual spending plans, performs budget revisions and prepares budge reports as needed.
·         When assigned, establishes and chairs advisory and focus groups for IMH programs and services.
·         Serves as campus weekend supervisor on a rotational basis with other administrative personnel.
·         Performs other duties as assigned.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
 
·         Understands planning, marketing, development of public relations programs, legislative advocacy and the Indiana fraternal community.
·         Familiar with not-for-profit tax exempt 501(c)(3) organizational operations.
·         Ability to manage budget development, implementation, and monitoring.
·         Ability to manage projects.
·         Ability to establish and maintain effective, positive, fraternal and public relationships with all segments of the Indiana Masonic Home, fraternal and public communities.
·         Must be able to use presentation, graphic, word processing, database, and spreadsheet software effectively.
·         Must communicate effectively, accurately, and clearly, both orally and in writing, complex and/or technical information to a wide variety of audiences.
·         Must know resources and agencies in order to track pending legislation that has an impact on non-profit organizations, the Indiana Masonic Home, participate in developing and recommending appropriate and timely intervention if possible.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 
·         Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline such as Marketing, Journalism, Business, Political Science, or Public Administration.
·         Three years experience in marketing in a non-profit or proprietary human service agency.
·         Additional experience may be taken into consideration with regard to educational requirements.
·         Attendance at Masonic and Eastern Star meetings will be required; therefore the ideal candidate will be a member of the Masonic Fraternity and Order of the Eastern Star in Indiana or other recognized jurisdiction.  An otherwise qualified applicant displaying a keen knowledge and sincere respect and appreciation of and for these organizations will be considered.
